Earlier this year at Goffs Premier yearling sales we struck on Lot 17.
A strong, athletic & precocious son of first season sire Starman, out of a Zoffany mare, that came well recommended to us by our partner Dave Byrne, who purchased Bob Mali and Sands of Marra, both 2 year old winners for us this year.
Ollie saw this colt and said he loved him as a physical and definitely see’s him as an early type who has every chance of becoming a 'Donny Rocket".
This colt possesses an impressive physique, particularly his powerful hindquarters, suggesting significant strength and speed. He also displayed excellent balance and a robust shoulder. He stood out to us as an exceptional purchase, with the team considering him a must-have. His temperament is outstanding, and he comes across as a very bright horse, eager to please, which will undoubtedly be beneficial for his development. His half-brother, Messidor, by Vadamos, achieved a rating of 93 and won twice showing significant ability.
He is also eligible to run in the Goffs sales race and has his nomination in place. See below for more details.

All indications have been very positive so far and we couldn't be happier with our lad! After impressing his pre-trainer Matt Hampton with his progress, he has been moved this week, to his new home at the historic Manton estate where he will join our ever growing team with Ollie Sangster, who is enjoying an outstanding season, going from strength to strength.

*What is the Goffs Harry's Half Million race and why should I be interested?*

The Goffs Harry's Half Million, formerly the Premier Yearling Stakes, was re-branded this year and re-introduced with increased prize money. It is a feature race at Yorks prestigious Ebor Festival.
The prize pot is guaranteed at a minimum of £500,000, with £245,900 to the winner, right down to £12,300 for 10th place.
The race is only open to two-year-olds that were catalogued in the 2024 Premier Sale and nominated at the time of purchase. Although the race carries a hefty entry fee of £3500, the actual number of eligible horses combined with the large amount of prize money on offer make this a no brainer for us and our lad has his nomination securely in place.
