Meet The PV Team
At Pompey Ventures, we have a team of four main partners who are the driving force behind our day to day operations. They keep things running smoothly and they are the ones you will meet when you visit the stables, join us on a race day or chat in the PV community groups.
Owen Haly
Founding Partner

Owen is the PV main man. He is responsible for all the behind the scenes work that keeps PV running smoothy. He is our 'people' person and the one you are most likely to see on track or at the stables. He has excellent relationships with all our trainers, helps with racing planning & collates all the updates and information you receive. Incredibly knowledgeable on all things horse and race related, if you have a question about your horse, Owen is your man!
Ned Sangster
Partner & Amateur Jockey
Ned is our PV man on the ground. He rides out in all our southern stables and exercises most of our horses on a regular basis. This allows us to gain valuable insight into your horse's development and performance. He is also responsible for the excellent horse updates we pride ourselves on, giving you the opportunity to really get to know your horse.
Ned is a vital link in the PV chain, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience from his upbringing in the racing industry.
Zach Massingham
Partner & Financial Director

​Zach is our financial director, affectionately known as 'The Bean Collector' by the Team. Passionate about horses, racing and keeping the PV figures trim, he is the man to speak to about any money related questions.
David Byrne
Partner, Horse Breeder & Owner of Rochestown Lodge Stud
Dave is one of our experts & the PV secret weapon when it comes to purchasing! He is an invaluable asset, bringing a huge amount of knowledge and experience to the team and he personally oversees every purchase made by PV.
When it comes to the racing industry, we have access to a wealth of expertise from our contacts in the racing world. We can call on their services whenever necessary to ensure that we provide the best possible experiences for our owners. We use the services of bloodstock agents, on occasion, such as Sam Haggas & our PV pups are always purchased with Paul Lawrence, who has many years extensive experience in greyhound racing.

Kieran Kourdache
We are also very lucky to count Kieran Kourdache, head travelling lad with Karl Burke, as an extended part of the PV team.
Kier regularly attends the sales and assists with the purchasing of unraced horses. Along with Karl & ourselves, anything purchased then goes to Spigot Lodge, home of Karle Burke Racing..
When our horses are in training at Spigot Lodge, Kieran will regularly ride and give valuable updates/feedback to owners about how he feels our horses are progressing.
Combining his updates, and arguably the best two year old trainer in the country, we feel makes for an outstanding ownership experience.
